The commander of the 10th Mountain Division wants to hear from you. Ft. Drum officials say Major General Stephen Townsend will be hosting a community listening session later this month in Watertown. The Army must reduce it's active duty end strength by 80 thousand soldiers by the fall of 2017 under current budget parameters. The Army is currently in the process of analyzing all available options, and would like to inform the public and get feedback on how future decisions could affect communities surrounding posts. Similar listening sessions are being held in other installation communities across the country. The one here in Watertown is planned for April 25, 5 pm at Case Middle School.
