Four Percent Tax Kicks In Today

New Yorkers will be paying four-percent sales tax on clothing items under $110 starting today. A tax exemption has come to an end for the next six months. The tax is back in place due to the state needing the revenue. The sales tax will also be placed on hats, footwear and diapers. In the spring, the tax will only apply to just clothing over $55.
