Everyone here in the North Country is hoping for a dryer day today. Heavy rain was all there was to the weather on Thursday, creating some localized flooding in some parts of Northern New York. In all between 2 to 4 inches of rain fell, with the highest amounts in the elevated areas. It's all part of the remnants of tropical storm Nicole and a separate system. All of which could be felt up and down the East Coast. Lewis County was especially hit hard with flooded roads. The sheriff's department listed the following roads closed due to flooding:
Cobb Rd: Town of Harrisburg
Gardner Rd: Town of Montague
Texas Rd: Town of Croghan
Alger Rd: Town of Martinsburg
Willow Grove Rd: Town of Lowville
Hines Rd, Thayer Hill Rd, Roger Rd, Denley Rd: Town of Leyden
