Schumer And Townsend Debate In Senate Race
In the Senate race, New York senior senator Charles Schumer and Republican hopeful Jay Townsend went at it in their first and only debate Sunday night on "YNN" Townsend took repeated jabs at the job Schumer has done in his previous two terms. Schumer defended his two terms and highlighted his work saying he helped small businesses and protected consumers. Townsend criticized Schumer for not looking out for New York when it comes to health care overhaul. Schumer rebutted that statement by saying he always looks out for New York first. Schumer said Townsend distorted his record and offered no solutions. The latest Marist poll shows Schumer leading Townsend by 28 percentage points among likely voters.
