Tugboat Runs Aground On St. Lawrence

A tugboat that was pushing two barges ran aground on the St. Lawrence River near Alexandria Bay over the weekend. The ships ran aground early Sunday morning. The barges are carrying soy beans as cargo. The U.S. Coast Guard and other emergency personnel were called to the scene and are continually monitoring the situation. Despite the ships running aground, the area remains open to boating traffic.
