City Likely To Acquire Portion of Palmer Street

A portion of a deteriorating city street whose owners were last known of in 1884 will likely become property of the City of Watertown. The Watertown Daily Times report that an extension of Palmer Street, whose last known owner was recorded as A. Palmer Smith in 1884, will become property of the city through the eminent domain process. City officials have been unable to trace any descednants from the original owner of the street. The portion of the street in question is in need of extensive repairs, as it is riddled with potholes and other faults.
